The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce is now part of a regional association of chambers; and what this will mean for its membership is the topic of this month’s Lunch and Learn session.

The event on Tuesday afternoon will include a presentation on the chamber’s new status as an affiliate of the Greater Des Moines Partnership.

Hannah Vander Veer is the director of the Knoxville Chamber; she tells KNIA/KRLS News all businesses belonging to the chamber are now automatically members of the partnership as well, and this means access to a wider array of services beyond what her office can provide.

“We’re working really hard on a daily basis to provide all the resources that we can, but this sort of partnership will just continue to expand those even more; with educational opportunities, legislative opportunities, networking, regional advocacy and just some talent recruitment in general for the area,” Vander Veer says.

The presentation is scheduled for noon on Tuesday in the Root Cellar at Peace Tree Brewing Company; it’s free to all Chamber members and employees, and $10 for others.

Lunch will not be served, but guests are invited to bring their own and eat along as they take part in the event.
