The PCM basketball teams gear up for their fourth road game in five contests tonight when they hit the road to face Nevada in a Heart of Iowa Conference matchup.

The Mustang boys’ and girls’ are both coming off of emphatic wins on Tuesday against Greene County. The girls snapped a three game losing skid with a 53-25 win to improve to 3-5. The Mustangs shot 45% in that game from behind the arc led by Lilli Baird and Cameron Wignall. Wignall tells KRLS Sports if the team can win tonight it would be a little extra special. “Nevada is usually a tough team. Since I have been here we have never beat them so it would be good to get them this time.” Nevada is 2-6 on the season.

The Mustang boys’ were clicking on all cylinders against Greene County winning 83-41. Reed Worth cashed in with a season-high 30 points to help the Mustangs to 3-2 on the season. The Cubs are 3-3 on the year.

The girls’ game gets underway at 6 p.m. tonight with the boys to follow at Nevada High School.
