Pella Middle School students have been helping their classmates, teachers, and the community in a variety of ways this academic year.

Ashlyn Branderhorst with the Pella Middle School student council tells KRLS News seventh and eighth grade students have made giving back a key priority, and they have done so through a variety of projects, which include:
-Serving meals at The Well during thanksgiving
-Writing Veterans Day notes
-Thanking custodians and teachers with cards
-Adopting a family for Christmas gifts through Crossroads of Pella
-Fundraising for cancer research through their Fall Festival
-Greeting every student at the door at the beginning of school

Student Tess Hopkins says they are thankful for the community they live in, and want to spread that good will to others in need.

“We think that it’s important to give back to the community because they’ve supported us in so many ways and supported us,” she says. “When we serve, we’re setting an example for our school and what we value.”
