In a field loaded with ranked wrestlers, the Pella wrestling team placed 6th at their home Bill Van Horn Invitational Saturday.

The Little Dutch welcomed some of the area’s best teams, including Norwalk, who won the overall event with 250.5 points, and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont placed 2nd at 174.5. Pella scored 128 points in the field of nine teams, finishing just eight points behind Bondurant-Farrar. Ben Hones finished 2nd at 152 pounds, scoring two pinfall victories en route to the championship round. Nate Kissinger and Tyler Vander Molen each claimed 3rd in their respective weight classes.

Pella’s wrestlers are out of competition until January, when they open with a dual meet against the Warriors of Norwalk at home.
