It’s now up to the Pella City Council to decide if there will be a school resource officer dedicated to local schools.

At their most recent meeting, the Pella School Board approved funding nearly half the cost of the position, which would have Officer Nathan Wolff on-duty full time at the Pella and Pella Christian schools. Pella Police Chief Robert Bokinsky tells KRLS News the move emphasizes the need to foster a better relationship with residents and the youth in the community. The Pella City Council will consider the addition during their budgeting process in February. Hear more about the future of a school resource officer in the community on today’s Let’s Talk Pella.
