The Simpson women’s and men’s basketball teams swept their non-conference foes Saturday afternoon, with the women holding off Waldorf 83-71 and the men blowing out Faith Baptist 104-58.

Jenna Taylor score 27 points to lead the Storm, who got an early lead but then had to hold off a Waldorf rally before cruising to a comfortable victory. The Storm men had six scorers get into double figures led by Ben Rajewski’s 14, and the Storm shooting 50% from long range. Simpson scored early and often, earning a 50-26 halftime advantage, and didn’t let up in the second half despite all 15 Storm players seeing playing time. The Storm women improve to 6-1 and will play next Saturday against Concordia-Moorhead, while the men are now 7-2 and play SUNY in Florida on Thursday.
