In order to allow Iowa kids who normally may not be able to afford attending postsecondary education, Simpson College has for a year now been offering the “Simpson Promise”.

Simpson President Jay Simmons tells KNIA News what the “Simpson Promise” aims to be.

“The Simpson Promise is a financial aid program targeted for families making $60,000 or less in adjusted gross income. Those families can send eligible students to Simpson College, and apply for free federal student aid and a federal Pell Grant which will allow their first year to be completely tuition free.”

To be eligible for the “Simpson Promise”, students have to have graduated from an Iowa High School and be a full time student. The students also have to live on campus and take advantage of the board program for meals. Applications are currently being accepted for the 2019-2020 school year, and are due by July 1st.
