The Pleasantville basketball teams got much needed conference wins last night against West Central Valley.

The Trojan girls had a nail biter to the finish, as they captured a thrilling 52-49 win at home. Pleasantville came out red-hot leading 20-7 after the first quarter and 32-20 at the break. The Wildcats made their move in the third quarter outscoring the Trojans 11-2 but Pleasantville was able to hang on late for the victory. Taylor Foley had a monstrous night with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Josie Hutchings added 13 points and Breanna Benge had 11. The Trojans improve to 5-2 and snap a two-game losing skid.

The Trojan boys had the same result but didn’t have to sweat it out, as they dominated 68-27. Four scorers were in double figures led by Mitch Harken with 17 points. Tagen Douma added 12 points, Teron Mount had 11, and Parker Elder chipped in with 11. Pleasantville improves to 2-3 on the season.

Both teams get back on the court Friday traveling to Des Moines Christian.
