With the new year coming soon, and many new year’s resolutions involving getting in shape, Warren County Conservation is offering a free way to start those resolutions outside of the gym with their First of the Year Hike.

Naturalist Karen Johlas-Szlakowski tells KNIA News a winter hike is often better than ones in the summer.

“Getting outside in the wintertime can be great, especially near the first of the year because it is a great time to think about goal setting and fitness desires for the year, and you can be outside when there aren’t as many people out and hopefully see some wildlife as well.”

The hike will be on Saturday, January 5th beginning at 2pm. Hot cocoa and snacks will be offered at the end of the hike, which is expected to take an hour. Find a link to register for the hike with this story below.
