Behind twelve gold medals – including a sweep of the individual running events – the Knoxville boys track and field team lapped the field at the Clarke Invitational in Osceola Thursday night. The Panthers dominated the larger school class with 205 points, way out in front of second-place Des Moines Christian’s 113.

Leading the Panthers to victory were first place performances from Derek Seddon in the Shot Put and Discus; Tanner Dunkin in the 100, Colton Spaur in the 200, Blake Wyatt in the 400, Jacob Moats in the 800 and Wick Cunningham in the 1600 and 3200 Meter Runs. Knoxville also controlled the relays, claiming gold in the 4×100, 4×200, Sprint Medley and Shuttle Hurdle Relays.

Points were hard to come back for the Twin Cedars boys track and field squad. The Sabers finished in 8th place with 15 points in the small school division. Though there weren’t a lot of points to be had, Twin Cedars had plenty of athletes to pursue them, as the team scored in eight events.

A fourth-place finish by the 4×800 Meter Relay team was the highlight of the evening, with individuals and relay teams also earning four fifth-place finishes and claiming sixth three times.
