It may be hard to talk about, but it’s important to consider certain decisions as you get near the end of life. Todayis National Healthcare Decisions Day – it’s a day where advance directives are highlighted and people are encouraged to attend to their end-of-life plans.
HCI Care Services Social Worker Mary Jo McLain tells KNIA/KRLS News that having a living will is a good way to take pressure off of your family if you were to no longer able to speak for yourself. She explains such advance directives are the best gift you can give loved ones; they know they’ll be following your wishes rather than guessing and possibly arguing about what you would have wanted.
