The Avenue of Flags went up at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville this morning.

Over 65 volunteers, including representatives from the VFW, American Legion, local boy scouts, and representatives from Senator Joni Ernst’s and Congressman Loebsack’s Office, helped put up over 250 flags. A short service by Mike Kuhn of the Marion County Veterans Affairs Office wrapped up the event, followed by a volley of three, and the playing of taps. The flags will stay up through Memorial Day to remember those who have served in the country’s armed forces, or relatives of those who have served, and passed away.
