Performances from some of the biggest musicals on Broadway will hit the stage Saturday night at the Pella Opera House as “Broadway Showstoppers” comes to town. Ray Saar, one of the show’s stars, tells KNIA/KRLS News the show plays out like a “greatest hits” compilation of the top shows Broadway has to offer.

“It has everything from the classic Broadway, big smash hits, to the new hits like Wicked,” says Saar. We do The Producers, Spamalot, Chicago, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, The Lion King – we do excerpts from the show. We call it “Showstoppers” because these are the songs everybody pays to hear.”

The performance is part of a big weekend at the Pella Opera House, which also included the opening of the Festival of Trees, which will be open on the lower level of the Opera House before and after the show. “Broadway Showstoppers” at the Pella Opera House starts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night.
