Wednesday, Bonnie Verberg worked her last day as the Director of the Pella Historical Society after 11 years of service. She began at the Historical Society right after receiving her Bachelor’s of Business Degree from William Penn, and says that her favorite part of the job was the relationships. Verberg’s responsibilities included the Vermeer Mill, recruiting volunteers and welcoming tourists. She also worked alongside the Tulip Time Committee marketing and promoting the annual event. Verberg hopes people welcome Kathy Miller, the new Executive Director, with open arms and make her feel like a native. She adds that she’d like to encourage people to continue to support the Pella Historical Trust and it’s upcoming fundraising campaigns. Verberg plans on staying in Pella and is excited to see what new and exciting opportunities arise.
