Though it has been one of the longest stretches of this year’s RAGBRAI route, Brian Kendall is doing well through the fifth day of this week’s ride. The Knoxville resident and employee of Ulrich Motors of Pella says he has felt good yesterday – which he credits some to a good night of sleep Wednesday night.

Kendall had reason to sleep well. Despite being sore and worn out, he rode an additional 40 miles after arriving at the route’s overnight stop in a competitive effort to log more miles than his brother, who had gone back out for an additional ride as well.

Kendall began yesterday’s route by leaving Charles City, and said the route included a memorable stop in Parkersburg, before continuing on toward Waterloo. Today’s route is another 62 miles and will take riders from Waterloo to Manchester. For an update on Brian Kendall’s progress, tune in for an early edition of the Marion County Midday Magazine, starting at noon.
