The Central College women’s basketball team found a way to slow down a high-flying Knox College offense last night in Galesburg, Illinois, as the Dutch returned to Pella with a 70-61 victory.

Central cooled off the Prairie Fire offense, holding them to their lowest point total of the season and allowing Knox to convert on just 27.9 percent of their field goal attempts. Alyssa Schwartz scored a team-high 13 points, while Kelsey Schuring came off the bench to put up 10 big points and pull down five rebounds for the Dutch.

The Central women are now 3-1 overall and open Iowa Conference play Wednesday night with a women’s and men’s doubleheader at home against Buena Vista University. The Beavers are 3-3 overall.
