Following his perfect showing this past Saturday at the Knox Invitational in Galesburg, Illinois, Central wrestler, Tyler Lowy was named Iowa Conference wrestler of the week. Lowy came into the tournament as a three-seed and toppled the one and two seeds on his way to the 197-pound title. He won the championship by pinning top-seeded Helmut Rentschler from Truman State in 3:26 to cap off a 4 – 0 day. Lowy, Daniel Page and Aaron Anderson all won championships on Saturday, and for Lowy, it was his first individual title. This is also the first time the junior has been named wrestler of the week. Central is back on the mat this Saturday in the Harold Nichols Open in Ames starting at 9:00 a.m.
