Traffic signals at Washington Street and West Third and the city solid waste collection contract are the two main items on the Pella City Council agenda tonight. The council will hold a public hearing on the Washington Street and West Third traffic signal project. They’re also scheduled to set the public hearing date for the city solid waste collection contract. The Pella City Council meets at 7:00 p.m. at the Public Safety Complex.

The Knoxville City Council approved the sale of the fire departments heavy rescue truck for $165,000 at their meeting last night. The department was also given approval to start putting together specifications for a smaller, more versatile rescue truck with the same equipment. In other news, the council approved a city policy for naming streets, facilities and features, among other issues.
