City of Knoxville employees didn’t have to go far for lunch on Friday. Knoxville City Hall hosted the eighth annual City Hall Chili Cook-off over lunch hour. Eight different chili recipes were submitted, while employees, City Councilors, and members of the general public came in to sample and vote for their favorite. Arlene Worrall was awarded the Golden Ladle for having the best chili. Councilors grabbed lunch there while on their City Department tours for budget sessions. They’ll talk more about the budget on February 11th in an open public meeting.

Worrall is picture on the right; she works for the Police Department. Dennis Webb, with the Streets Department, is pictured in the middle with a second place ribbon. Deputy City Clerk Jodi Bassett, on the left, finished third.
