Brown Tunes Up For World Of Outlaws Weekend With His 6th Win At Knoxville

Posted: Monday, June 25th, 2018 at 5:49 am

Brian Brown had made sure that he is the local favorite when the World of Outlaws come calling next week at the Knoxville Raceway. Brown won for the sixth time this season at Knoxville and had to battle a tricky track…and Kerry Madsen until a slide job by Brown got Madsen in the cushion and Madsen went for a tumble. He was O-K…but out of the race…and Brown sailed to the win. After the race Brown told KNIA/KRLS Sports the cushion was not the place to be. Clint Garner took advantage of a restart on lap six of the 360 race to record his third win of the season…and the question on everyone’s minds going in was could anyone stop Eric Bridger in the 305s. The answer…and emphatic no…as Bridger dominated another 305 A-Main to win his fourth consecutive race. Next week the World of Outlaws make their only visit to the Knoxville Raceway for a Friday and Saturday show.

Brown Wins 3rd A-Main In A Row At Knoxville

Posted: Monday, May 21st, 2018 at 5:49 am

With several visitors in the pits on Saturday…many of the weekly drivers at Knoxville had to step up their game. Brian Brown won for the third time in a row Saturday as he dueled with Kerry Madsen in the 410 A-Main. Brown was able to use lapped traffic to his advantage and pull away from Madsen in the late going. It was the third time Brown has won three races in a row at doing it in most recently in 2014. Clint Garner led every lap of the 360 feature race, but had to duel with Ryan Giles at the halfway point. Garner was able to gap Giles and win by a comfortable margin. Matthew Stelzer left no doubt who was the car to beat in the 305 A-Main as he won by nearly five seconds. Brown won more than just a race on Saturday as his favorite school, Missouri, won the college challenge by getting the most donations to charity. The two-week contest honoring area colleges charities went to the University of Missouri’s “Rally for Rhyan.” As a result, the Missouri flag will fly at Knoxville the rest of the year. Over $3,300 was raised for charities of Iowa State University, the University of Iowa, Drake University and Missouri.

Moro Edges Garner To Win 360 Title At Knoxville

Posted: Monday, August 28th, 2017 at 5:48 am

27 points, that is what Clint Garner had trimmed down Matt Moro’s lead in the 360 standings at the Knoxville Raceway when the checkered flag fell on Saturday night. Moro, buy finishing sixth clinched the title even though Garner was runner-up to winner Sawyer Phillips, who won for the third time this season. Moro needed a midrace restart as he was back in ninth place and would have lost the title had he stayed there. The other two points races were wrapped up early in the night as Ian Madsen clinched his second 410 title by just taking a time trial lap, and the same with Eric Bridger in the 305s. Madsen would go on the win the 410 A-Main while Mike Mayberry won his first career 305 A-Main.
