Though they’ve certainly made a great deal of progress as of late, the Central College wrestling team still has a way to go to catch up with the Iowa Conference’s power teams. The Dutch were blanked 44-0 by fourth-ranked Coe on Wednesday night in the dual season opener for both squads. The Kohawks feature five top-10 ranked wrestlers in their line-up and scored two falls and two technical falls in the lopsided victory.

Still, Head Coach Eric Van Kley has been impressed by what he’s seen from his young squad and expects the team to only get better. The Central wrestling team is back in action this weekend, when they travel to Augsburg College in Minneapolis for the Auggie-Brute-Adidas Open on Saturday.
