The US Army Corps of Engineers has just released a study of the Des Moines River stating the risk of floods like those of 1993 and 2008 is greater than previously estimated.

At approximately 4:00 PM Sunday a motorist driving down Newbold southeast of Knoxville ignored road closed signs to cross English Creek floodwaters.
