A frost advisory has been issued for Marion and Warren Counties from until 8 a.m. this morning. Near freezing temperatures overnight into the early morning means frost could form, killing sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.

Widespread frost is possible again early Thursday morning as well. Temperatures will remain in the 50s during the day and in the upper 30s and low 40s from Thursday through Sunday.

Frost and freeze events are not uncommon in April — typically on average, the final hard freeze of the season takes place in mid-April, and the final frost by the first week of May.
