The Secondary Roads Department of the Marion County Engineers Office reports that Highway G-28 east of Highway 14 will be one lane traffic starting today. The project will last approximately two weeks, weather permitting. Tom Wadle with the Secondary Roads Department says the lane will be blocked so a contractor can place riprap on the shore line of Lake Red Rock. Riprap are large stones that are used to prevent erosion. Wadle adds that recent extreme fluctuations of lake levels has caused existing riprap to slump, necessitating repairs to prevent erosion. The project is being funded with Federal dollars.
