Gio Scelzi seems to have a great plan for winning sprint car races. He waits and then when the time is right he strikes. That is what has happened the last three times he has raced a 360 sprint car at the Knoxville Raceway, and last night, he added one of the sprint car’s crown jewels, the 31st Annual 360 Nationals as heard on KNIA. Daryn Pittman took the early lead and looked as if he would have just enough for the win, but with two laps to go, Scelzi got a good bite out of turn two, and just like he did in his preliminary night win on Friday, passed Pittman and held on for the win. Pittman settled for 2nd while Justin Henderson took 3rd place. Tonight, around 70 410 cars are expected for the 10th annual Capitani Classic, which is the final race at Knoxville before the Knoxville Nationals.
