Marion County Naturalist Marla Mertz says hundreds, if not thousands of pelicans arrived over the weekend as they stopped in Iowa before heading south.

Bald Eagle Release Tonight at Lake Red Rock

A chief of the Yankton Sioux Nation in South Dakota will be at the Horn’s Ferry Bridge below Lake Red Rock Tuesday, presenting a “Blessing of the Birds” cultural event at 7 p.m.
