Knoxville Fire and Rescue responded to a fire alarm at Windsor Ridge Apartments recently. Chief Jim Mitchell tells KNIA KRLS News that a grease fire on a stove had extended to a vent hood, and caused approximately $500 damage. Chief Mitchell says the fire self-extinquished, but his crew needed to evacuate smoke Saturday afternoon, shortly after 12:30. Chief Mitchell responded to the scene, as well as two engines and an ambulance, and he says nobody was injured in the incident.
