Knoxville And Lightning Zaps South Tama

An early start, plus a 45 minute lighting delay could not keep the Knoxville Football Squad from dominating South Tama Friday night 47-12. The Panthers jumped out to an early 12-0 lead when South Tama closed the gap to 12-6 when lightning was detected and both teams and fans were sent to shelter. After the delay it was all Knoxville as the Panthers outscored the Trojans 35-6 the rest of the way. Coach Eric Kellar told KNIA/KRLS Sports, his team played well in every aspect of the game. Just before halftime, South Tama closed the gap to eight points, but Knoxville’s Kieren Nichols took the ensuing kickoff 94 yards for a score and Knoxville was in complete control. Nichols led the Panthers with 165 yards on the ground on 21 carries add in his kickoff return and passing stats and he had 295 yards all purpose for the Panthers. Knoxville improves to 3-4 on the season and 1-2 in district seven, and will host district leader Oskaloosa next Friday for senior night.
