Pella Christian Runner-up, Knoxville 3rd In Triangular

Pella Christian finished second and Knoxville was third in a girl’s golf triangular yesterday at Newton. The Cardinals won the meet with a score of 177 while Pella Christian shot a 213 and Knoxville carded a 262. Meredith Fopma from Pella Christian shot a 47 to lead the Eagles while Morgan Roy had a 55 to lead Knoxville. Earlier last week, Coach Larry Hessing noted Newton would be one of the tougher teams in the conference. Knoxville Coach Kyle Kincaid was encouraged by how his team played. He added that the scores were better than expected. The girls will prepare for another triangular on April 19th when they play host to Oskaloosa and South Tama.
