They scored 30 goals in 16 games as compared to 19 goals in 18 games in 2015. They allowed just 41 goals against them this season, 39 less than the 80 that got past their net-minders last year. Pella Christian’s girls’ soccer team made tremendous strides this past spring. Though their record may not entirely reflect it, the Eagles’ overall attitude and ability on and off the field does shine through in the stat book. Coach Mike Buchheit has preached a common phrase in reference to the program that he took over last year, and says the distance they’ve traveled from last year to this year can be accredited to both the players and the parents alike. Buchheit adds they have worked closely with the Central women’s soccer team on fundamentals, and many of the girls are spending time out of season to work on their game. The Eagles went 6 – 10 in 2016.
