The Knoxville Football season was nowhere near what the Panthers, players and coaches envisioned. Going in, they knew it would be a struggle to stay competitive in most games and the 1-8 record and the 39.4 points per game the Panthers lost by. However, Interim Coach Chris Hudson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports, many of the players were doing the right things, it just came down to on many occasions the opponent was bigger, faster, and stronger.

Hudson: “That’s so much with coaching and where you need them to be and for the most part we did, but after that first week we had so many injuries that we were scrambling to get guys in positions.”

The Panthers suffered several injuries in the first two weeks of the season making an already thin depth chart thinner. Hudson adds the players will get better, but they have to do the work in the offseason to be more competitive than this season.
