The PCM football team tries to follow-up last week’s win over CMB in the district opener with more success this week at home against Interstate-35. Mustangs’ quarterback and free safety Nate VandeWall tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the Roadrunners will give he and his teammates some things they haven’t seen from the opposition yet this season.

“They [I-35] are definitely more of a passing team than we’ve seen thus far. I think we’ll have a good opportunity to break on some balls out there and just try to make plays,” said VandeWall. “On the other side of the ball, we’ve got to stay on our blocks. They do run a 5-3 [defense] part of the time – which we haven’t seen yet – so hopefully we’ve got some stretch plays and stuff like that. Hopefully that opens up some passing lanes as well.”

VandeWall will be joined by fellow senior captains Colten Jenkins, Ethan Kain and Michael Neff in an interview with Eric Gotschall on tonight’s Marion County PM Sports Page program, starting at 6:30. The PCM football team is 2-3 overall and hosting Interstate-35 for Homecoming. The Roadrunners are 0-4 this season.
