Despite a break for stormy skies halfway through festivities, severe weather held off for the Marching Dutch Invitational Saturday at Pella High School. Knoxville and PCM were among the local bands competing with 20 other high schools in three classes. The Pella Marching Dutch performed their traditional exhibition with their 2023 show “Wild,” followed by the Iowa Hawkeyes Marching Band. Director of the Pella Marching Dutch Dameon Place was a drum major with the Hawkeyes and made the invitation.
