While it has seemed far from normal, high school music students have been performing and competing with some restrictions across south central Iowa.

Executive Director of the Iowa High School Music Association Alan Greiner says as they await more detailed results of an aerosol study, they have been working with choirs, bands, and orchestras across the state to understand precautions needed for in-person concerts and what options exist for streaming video legally.

Greiner says students have until October 21st to submit audition recordings for the 75th annual All-State Music Festival November 19th through 21st.

Marching bands will also be judged this Saturday virtually for the 2020 State Marching Band Contest after submitting videos to judges by this Friday in the Iowa High School Music Association. Results will be posted live on Saturday as the day progresses.
