Unemployment in Iowa has remained steady. According to the State of Iowa, in October the adjusted unemployment was 6%. Non-farm employment grew statewide by about 2,300 jobs. The overall pool of unemployed workers statewide is 98,900, down from last years October number of 103,000. Iowa’s employment numbers look good when compared to the national unemployment rate which is currently at 9.0. In Marion County the unemployment rate went down .3 percent, to 5.1 percent.
