The Pleasantville Trojans would split a pair of games with the Interstate 35 Roadrunners Tuesday.

The Trojans girls would get a dominating 48-21 win and the boys would fall 55-47.

On the girl’s side, senior Kelsee Van Haalen would come into Tuesday’s game just six points shy of 1,000 for her career. Van Haalen would reach the 1,000 point threshold early in the second quarter on her way to scoring 16 in the game.

Van Haalen tells KNIA/KRLS Sports she knew coming into the season she only needed 270 points to reach the 1,000 point threshold but when she started her career it never crossed her mind. Van Haalen says reaching the 1,000 points is still unbelievable. Hear her interview on tonight’s Marion County PM Sports Page from 6-7 on KNIA/KRLS.

In the boy’s game, the Trojans would trail most of the first half but would muster a 23-21 lead at the half. The Trojans would come out in the third quarter flat only scoring four points and trail 38-27 to start the fourth. The Roadrunners led by senior Chris Godfrey’s 24 points would show to be strong in the end and would secure the eight point victory.

Next up for the Trojans is a home matchup with Lenox on Friday.
