Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada announced Monday that long time K-9 officer, Knox, will be retired later this year.

Losada says Knox is suffering from health problems and the department doesn’t want him to have to work through another winter.
Knox is a combined patrol and narcotics dog who has been with the Knoxville Police Department for over six years. Losada says his efforts have resulted in the seizure of over $300,000 cash.
