Total enrollment is down in Knoxville schools once again this year, but a stable enrollment doesn’t appear too far away. Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack tells KNIA/KRLS that enrollment in many of the elementary classes is steady at 125-to-130 students. He says while every district would like growth, a steady enrollment is still good and helps with budgeting. Knoxville’s peak enrollment was in the 2000-2001 school year, where the district averaged around 168 kids per class.
