The Knoxville Optimist Club has begun their annual Angel Tree giving event.

Stockings representing the members of six families in need of help to have a joyful Christmas are hung on a tree at Coffee Connection on the square according to Optimist President Craig Kelley. Kelley says many of the families are working two or three jobs, but still struggle to buy presents for Christmas while taking care of their families.

Those wishing to donate need only to select a stocking from the tree. All the information about the person who will receive the gift is included. The presents should be wrapped and the stocking attached. The club asks the presents be returned to the tree by Friday December 16 so that delivery is assured.
