Henderson Wins 360s; Madsen Survives Shrapnel In 410s

Posted: Monday, July 28th, 2014 at 5:48 am

The final tune up before the 360 Nationals at the Knoxville Raceway Saturday night was going fine until the 410 A-Main, when it became a wreck fest. It started on the drop of the green when Austen Wheatly crashed on the front stretch, then Cole Wood flipped in turn one later on. After that, a scary multi car pileup a few laps later, and to round it off while going for the lead Ian Madsen and Brian Brown made contact in turn three and sent Brown hard into the wall. Brown was O-K, however Wood and Agan, who was involved in the multi car crash in the front stretch, were both taken to Knoxville Hospital and Clinics for observation. Ian Madsen went on to win the 410 feature while Justin Henderson won the 360 race.

Rain, again forced cancellation of Saturday night’s racing after a sudden downpour drenched the facility with nearly two inches of rain in a little over an hour. They will try to break the streak next week with a regular triple header of sprint car racing.
