Knoxville sports teams will be in action today as the cross country runners will head to Albia for a meet. The Panthers will get an early glimpse of the contenders in the South Central Conference plus other squads that they may see in the state qualifier later in the season. At the high school gym, the class 4A #15 volleyball squad will open up defense of its back-to-back conference championships against Chariton. Coach Mollie Keitges tells KRLS Sports early on fine tuning areas like serving blocking and other areas have been the focal point in practice since their last meet a week ago. Chariton is 0-2 after a meet against Wayne and Central Decatur losing both matches in sweeps. First service is scheduled for 7:15.
