Both the Pella and Pella Christian boys basketball squads will play in Knoxville’s Turkey Shoot tomorrow night. Pella Christian coach Larry Hessing says the enjoy the Turkey Shoot because it is all local teams that participate and it is a fun way to get on the floor and play against someone other than themselves in practice. He says even though they play against a smaller school…and its just a half of basketball…that is still a chance for the guys to play together…run some plays…see some different defenses and see how they handle those situations. Pella Christian will have a few familiar faces on the floor this year…but a lot of new faces as well. Hessing says with the loss of Cliff Warner and Eli Groenendyk, who provided most of their scoring the past couple seasons…other players now have to fill bigger roles than in the past. Pella Christian will play Lynnville-Sully…Pella takes on Melcher-Dallas…and Knoxville will battle Centerville.
