The PCM girl’s basketball team looks to carry momentum from their Tuesday night home victory over Gilbert into the first round of Class 3A Regional play tonight at home against Centerville. The Lady Mustangs finished the regular season with a record of 14-7 and finished with a Heart of Iowa conference record of 14-4. Centerville has had its struggles this year finishing the regular season with a record of 6-15. This will be the first meeting this year between these two teams. Centerville does have a nice balance of size inside and have been competitive throughout the year. The Lady Mustangs need to have a fast start to tonight’s matchup and continue to have a balanced scoring attack, led by seniors Rachel Freland and Courtney VanHouweling. Head coach Bret Grier says they need to use their speed and quickness against a bigger Centerville team (actuality). The call can be heard on AM 1320 and FM 95.3 KNIA and online at kniakrls.com with Garrett Knock on the call.
