Increase in Landfill Tipping Fees at SCISWA

An $8 increase in landfill tipping fees to $38 per ton takes affect Wednesday at the South Central Iowa Solid Waste Agency. Sara Bixby is the agencys executive director. She says the increase, which was approved earlier this year, is necessary to meet new regulations from the Iowa DNR and to help cover costs for a planned $2.3 million landfill cell.
