While last night’s triple header at the Knoxville Raceway did not have the wackiness of last week’s cars and car parts flying out of the track, the racing was some of the best of the season. Larry Ball Jr. dominated from the drop of the green flag to win his first career 305 race. In the 360s finale, Wayne Johnson who last week won the 410 show benefitted from Jon Agan’s misfortune and kept his white hot season going with a second straight win at Knoxville. Agan seemed to have the field covered, but just as the yellow flag was displayed Agan seemed to break a shock absorber and had to pit in the work area. His crew was unable to fix the car before the green flew again, and Johnson led the rest of the race. The 410 race was the best of the three with Davey Heskin, Brian Brown, and Terry McCarl all fighting for the lead. Rubber-down conditions on the track ensued and Heskin was able to find it first to take his second career win at Knoxville. Brown was second and McCarl finished third.
