The Knoxville school board met in regular session Monday.

The meeting began with School Board President Andrew Schmidt reading a letter from board member Leslie Miller who resigned effective immediately citing time constraints brought on by her business and personal workload as the reason for her resignation. The board will look to appoint a replacement to sit on the board until the school board elections in September. Following the reading of the letter the board listened to the college, career readiness initiatives presentation. The board then made preliminary approval of the science trip and shooting team trip. They later denied an open enrollment request and approved teacher assignments, assignments for classified employees and directors contracts. At the end of the meeting the board approved the renewal of a three year contract for Superintendent Cassie Pearson as well as two year contracts for the North Star Elementary Principal, Middle School Principal, Middle School Assistant Principal, High School Principal, High School Assistant Principal, and the Curriculum Director. The board approved the renewal of a one year contract for the Business Manager, and a one year non renewable contract for the West Elementary School Principal and Activities Director.
