Area first responders had the opportunity this week to learn more about preparing a safe landing zone for a vehicle used to help those with traumatic injuries.

The crew of Life Flight from Iowa Methodist in Des Moines was in Pella Thursday night, showing local area emergency response units how to safely set up a scene for a helicopter landing. Members from Pella Ambulance, Pella Fire, Pella Police, Marion County Emergency Management, Bussey Fire and Rescue, and Melcher-Dallas rescue teams were all in attendance.
