Pella Christian’s volleyball team pushed a ranked Eddyville-Blakesburg team to the brink, but eventually fell in three sets, losing game one 25 – 13, coming back to win game two 25 – 19, and losing the deciding third set 15 – 9.

“Scrappy” was the word that Eagles Head Volleyball Coach, Cindy Nikkel, used to describe the play of Norwalk, and Pella Christian seemed to come out with some determination of their own, fighting off the Warriors and winning in three straight sets, 27 – 25, 25 – 20, and 25 – 21.

After cramming five meets into the first two weeks of the season, the Pella Christian cross country teams finally got a chance to get their legs back under them this week and are ready to return to competition tomorrow in Monroe. On this week’s Marion County PM Sports Page program, KNIA/KRLS Sports Director Eric Gotschall talked with Leah Breon, Demaris Worthington, Jacob Lensing and Ryen Van Vark about the team’s progress up to this point, what type of terrain they run best on, and what challenges and goals lie in front of them.
