A record number of girls are out for cross country this fall at Pella High as part of a record number of total runners on the Dutch squad. On this week’s Marion County PM Sports Page program, four of those girls – Elizabeth DeWolf, Madison Doren, Elizabeth VerHoef and Heather Van Wyk – talked with KNIA/KRLS Sports Director Eric Gotschall about their upcoming competition on the Iowa State University course, how the team pushes each other to reach their potential, and why ‘Everyone Counts’.

Pella Christian’s cross country runners put up a strong showing this past Thursday evening at the Johnston Dragon Invitational, completing a loaded early week of competition that saw the Eagles’ compete in three meets in six days. Both squads finished in seventh place in the team standings. In the girls race, Pella Christian was able to score 169 points, just five points behind sixth-place Saydel.
