The Knoxville Public Works Department has had a busy fall trying to make up for lost time after a wet spring and summer. According to Public Works Director Jeff May the construction on Madison Street is in its final stages and they hope to be able to take advantage of some warmer temperatures on Thursday to pave the area. May says once the road is paved it will take another 7 to 14 days for it to set before it can be reopened to traffic.

In addition, May says the pipe laying and man-hole work at Graceland Cemetery has been completed and the finishing touches of the project should be completed in the near future.
